RA’s Annual Mountain Trip

On April 26th-28th the RAs took their annual trip to Camp ACCOVAC in the mountains of Virginia. We were joined by some of our brothers in Christ from Elm Grove Baptist Church. In whole thirty three of us were able to go on the trip.

Men from both churches led devotionals that helped us all grow closer to the Lord. In addition we were able to fish, play various sorts of games, and of course go “Critter Hunting”. On these trips, the focus is on the Gospel of Jesus and letting our RAs learn from the example of older brothers in the faith.

We are so proud of our RA leaders and students and are blessed to have this program in our church. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible!

Bible Drillers Perform Well at Regional Bible Drill Competition

We are so proud of the effort that our Bible drillers put in to learning the Word of God. All five of our Regional competitors were winners!

In High School: Josh Morris and Elizabeth Eure

In Children’s: Zoey Harden, Landen White, and Caleb Morris.

We are so thankful to the leaders who gave of their time and talents to work with these young people, as well as our other drillers who worked very hard to learn the Word.

Shout out to a first year driller, Noah White, who was too young to compete at the Regional level, but who passed both Church and Association Drills!

We are thrilled to have had children’s, youth, and high school drillers this year. Every young person that studied for this program has touched our hearts, and we are glad to see youth interested in learning the word of God!

WMU meets for night of mission-minded action!

April 3rd, 2019 our WMU met for their monthly meeting. Mrs. Martha Lou White, Mrs. Carol Mizelle, and Mrs. Edith Williford led our group in putting together artistic Easter cards to send out in Christian love! 15 ladies and 8 GA’s gave of their time and energy to and were able to put together 116 cards!

We thank our leaders for all of the preparation and for their creative minds, and look forward to more mission projects this year!

We welcome ladies to join us on the 1st Wednesday night of each month at 7:30 PM

Brotherhood Workday loves on our church

This past Saturday, March 30th, members of our church family met together at the church grounds to work on some needed spring cleaning projects!

We were able to power wash the sidewalks and sides of our buildings so that they shine!

We were also able to deep clean the large church kitchen and clean out and clean up rooms in our building so that we are ready for the many plans of our church family for this year!

We are so grateful for the men and women who gave up their Saturday morning, gave of their time and abilities to show tangible love to our church family!

-Colossians 3:23: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”

Brotherhood puts their hands into service project

On Monday night, our Askewville Baptist Church brotherhood met for another one of their projects-to work with their hands as an act of worship. We are grateful to them for their active witness in our community and for the love that they have for those around them.

They will also be meeting on March 30th for another Brotherhood workday, and welcome any men that would like to be a part of their team.
